Mae rhyw ddirgelwch llawer mwy

(Dirgelwch y groes)
Mae rhyw ddirgelwch llawer mwy,
Oes, Iesu, yn dy farwol glwy',
  Nac y gall sant
      tra ynddo chwŷth,
  Na seraph pur ei ddeall byth.

O holl weithredoedd nef yn un,
Y bennaf oll oedd prynu dyn;
  Rhyfeddod mwyaf o bob oes
  Gwel'd Iesu'n marw ar y groes.

Y mae hapusrwydd pawb o'r byd,
Yn gorphwys ar dy angeu drud;
  Hyfrydaf waith
      angelion fry,
  Yw canu am angeu Calfari.

Bu farw Iesu ar y groes,
O gariad rhwydd ei fywyd rhoes,
  Ar g'oedd, rhwng daear lawr a ne',
  Fel Oen yn llariaidd yn fy lle.

Mae rhyw ddirgelwch llawer mwy,
Oes, Iesu, yn dy farwol glwy',
  Nag y gall sant

Ni cheisiaf loches ond dy glwy',
Tan dònau mawrion fwy na mwy;
  Mae'th waed yn nyfnder
      culni a gwae
  Yn abl fy rhoi i lawenhau.

Cyflawna'th air, doed imi a ddêl,
Dy eiriau sydd i gyd tan sêl;
  Ni raid ond gair, a dyna i gyd,
  I godi'm henaid i o'r byd.

Mae hyfryd swn dy Ysbryd pur,
Sy'n chwythu yr awelon gwir,
  Yn peri im anghofio'r byd
  Yn gyfan, a'i deganau i gyd.

'Rwy'n blino byw mewn byd o wae,
Lle nad oes bleser i'w fwynhau;
  A'm blinder fyth
      yw'r un ag oedd,
  Sef ffaelu'th garu
      wrth fy modd.

Os câf fi'th garu, dyro'r byd
I'r rhai sy'n rhoddi arno'u bryd;
  Rho iddynt hawddfyd, parch, a bri
  Ni cheisiaf ond dy garu di.

Y mae hapusrwydd pawb o'r byd,
Yn gorphwys ar dy angeu drud;
  Hyfrydaf waith
      angelion fry,
  Yw canu am haeddiant Calfari.

Wel dyma'r trysor mwya' drud,
Gwaed Iesu'n llifo
    dros y byd;
  Fyth na foed
      ond ei farwol glwy',
  Yn sylwedd pob caniadau mwy.

O dyma drysor mawr a drud,
Gwaed Duw yn llifo dros y byd;

(The mystery of the cross)
There is some mystery much greater,
Yes, Jesus, in thy mortal wound,
  That a saint can
      while there is breath in him,
  Or pure seraph ever understand.

Of every single deed of heaven,
The chief of all was redeeming man;
  The greatest wonder of every age
  Seeing Jesus dying on the cross.

The happiness of everyone of the world is
Resting on thy costly death;
  The most delightful work
      of angels above,
  Is singing about the death of Calvary.

Jesus died on the cross,
From free love his life he gave,
  Publicly, between earth below and heaven,
  Like a Lamb meekly in my place.

(Full salvation in Christ)

There is some secret much greater,
Yes, Jesus, in thy mortal wound,
  Than can a saint while
      there is breath in him,
  Nor a pure seraph ever understand.

I will not seek a refuge but thy wound,
Under great waves more than more;
  Thy blood is, in the depth
      of strait and woe
  Able to put me to rejoicing.

Fulfil thy word, come whatever to me,
Thy words are all under a seal;
  Only a word is needed, and that is all,
  To raise my soul from the world.

The delightful sound of thy pure Spirit,
Is blowing the true breezes,
  Causing me to forget the world
  Completely, and all its trinkets.

I am weary of living in a world of woe,
Where there is no pleasure to enjoy;
  And my weariness is ever
      the same as it was,
  That is, failing to love thee
      to my satisfaction.

If I get to love thee, give the world
To those who put their affection on it;
  Give them beauty, honour, and renown,
  I will only seek to love thee.

The happiness of everyone from the world is
Resting on thy costly death;
  The most delightful work
      of the angels above,
  Is singing about the merit of Calvary.

See, here is the most costly treasure,
The blood of Jesus flowing
    for the world's sake;
  May there never be anything
      but his mortal wound
  The substance of all songs evermore.
strait :: beating
I am weary of living in a world :: I am wearied of a world

(The immeasurable virtue of the blood of the cross)

There is some secret much greater,
Yes, Jesus, in thy mortal wound,
  Than can a saint while
      there is breath in him,
  Nor a pure seraph ever understand.

Of all the actions of heaven as one,
The chief of all was redeeming man;
  The most amazing of every age
  To see Jesus bleeding on the cross.

Here is a treasure great and costly,
The blood of God flowing for the world;
  May there never be but his mortal wound,
  As a foundation of all songs henceforth.

The happiness of everyone from the world is
Lying in thy costly death;
  The most delightful work of angels above,
  Is singing about mount Calvary.

Unutterably greater depths,
Unebbing, unmeasured, are in his wound;
  Our untruths get taken away,
  And we free for his sake.

Ye too, sinners of every degree,
Who are most firm about killing me,
  Despite the greatness of your force,
      despite the greatness of your wound
  The death of Jesus is much greater.

It the law should come in its force,
And demand perfection of me,
  I have only to show the pangs of death,
  And the blood which flowed on the cross.

I will not seek any refuge but thy wound,
Under the great waves greater and greater;
  Thy blood is in the depth
      of straits and woe,
  Able to set me rejoicing.

While I get to live this side of the grave,
Let me experience thy heavenly peace;
  And all my delight day and night
  Be in the depths of
      the truths of the cross.
The blood of God flowing :: The blood that flowed
::
of all songs :: of our songs
In thy costly death :: On the costly Sacrifice
work of angels :: song of the saints
